Mariner’s outburst of love for a Japanese noblewoman.

A drama set in Japan at the beginning of 17^th century tells a moving story about the adventures of Adams, a mariner who falls in love with a Japanese noblewoman Sakura. The wildness and beauty of samurais, their skills at martial arts and magical rituals in contrast with civilized life on the court of the Japanese Emperor are expressed in the language of ballet choreographed by Eric Trottier and the artistic director of the ballet ensemble, Igor Vejsada. The story was freely inspired by the bestselling novel Shogun and its film version The Last Samurai. It is a spectacular show with music composed by Japanese musician and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, a winner of the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award and Grammy Award for his score for The Last Emperor.
