The Jiří Myron Theatre

Sound engineering system (F.O.H.)

It provides sounding services to big musical productions. The work room is situated in the ideal sound place on a separate landing (rows no. 14, 15, 16 in the middle). The workroom is equipped with digital mixing console Midas Pro3 (48 entries, 16 group/AUX/8 matrix outputs, 27 mix busbars, 10 VCA groups, 6 POPulation groups, 6 effect units Klark Teknik, up to 28 Klark Teknik graphic EQ, there is a possibility of independent work of two sound masters). The entries and outputs themselves are placed in the stage box in the backstage, the connection with the mix is provided digitally by tow cat5 cables. The mixing console contains 8 direct entries for connection of modulation sources. It is possible to make a finish mixing in a regime L – C – R – S-bas. Other picture entries may be connected to monitors, including a view on a conductor, a view on stage, or any other signal sources.

2 card recorders Tascam SS-R1 serve as modulation sources, there is a possibility of an installation of a minidisk player Tascam MD 01. To communicate with the backstage, there is a loud communication system NAXOS (connection with a supervisor, soundmasters in the backstage, other workrooms) and two-coloured signalisation. Using a laptop, is it possible to remotely control the arrangements of P.A. system and the system of micro-ports.

It serves for the main stage of the Jiří Myron Theatre. It is situated next to the stage and the connection with the auditorium is provided by highly authentic sound monitoring from the auditorium and colour and black-white cameras of industrial television, which are able to manage even unusual light conditions on the stage. It is equipped by a mixing console Yamaha Promix R02 (16 mic, 8 lines a 4 stereo entries, 8 outputs GROUP, main stereo output for recordings, 6 AUX outputs for monitoring channels).

Modulation sources are usual: 3 card recorders Tascam, 3 minidisc DENON, DAT, cassette player, CD player, etc. Apart from effective routes in the mixing console there are also other sound processors available, echoes, dynamics compressors, sound feedback restrictors or graphic evalisers. The sound room is used for serving to drama, ballet and some of operetta performances. In case of musical productions, it is possible to use the room for directing the sound monitoring on the stage, or for premix of selected modulation lines.

Microphone lines are situated on all the stage, proscenium, in the orchestra pit and also in the audience. There is also a link connection available for radio and TV broadcasting located at the exit from the stage. Stage and orchestra pit recording is realised by two permanent microphones situated in the front stage, by two others situated in the rear stage, the orchestra pit is recorded by 4 microphones placed in a panelling of the orchestra pit.

There are 2 repro-sets installed on the stage providing the sound monitoring (2x250W, TOA) and the sounding (4x200W, JBL a TOA). It is possible to connect portable active repro-cases by Db Technologies (4x700W) and Montarbo (2x350W a 2x 150W). The sound monitoring for a conductor is provided by the reproducer Yamaha placed in the panelling of the orchestra pit.

The sounding is provided by the reproducer set Meyer Sound in the Line – array, system, there are left, right and central clusters available, each of them is equipped with 9 compacts Meyer Sound M1D, in the ceiling there are 4 subbasses Meyer Sound M1D-Sub located. To reach a compact sound field it is possible to use three covering compacts Meyer Sound M1D, located under the edge of a balcony. The overall output of the P.A. system for the auditorium sounding is 16.8 kW. It is also possible to make mixes in a regime L – C – R – S-bas.

To finish the effect sounding, it is possible to use reproducers in the proscenium and on the rear wall of the auditorium (4 channels, Boss and TOA).
All reproducers are frequentially and timely coordinated with digital audio-processors Yamaha DME 32 and Meyer Sound Galileo. The Meyer Sound system may be controlled remotely by the boundary Compass.

Television circuits, communication and signalisation

There are 4 TV monitors installed containing a picture of a conductor. Around the stage and in the facility rooms of the theatre there are lots of monitors, on which it is possible to choose four TV cameras providing a view into the stage (colour and black-white), the auditorium and the orchestra pit. Monitors may be connected also to other place: in the auditorium, orchestra pit, foyer, etc.

Video-projection

There is a transportable video-projector SHARP (800 lumen ANSI) available. It is powered by signal from a small video work room in a sound room, where there are also editing consoles, a DVD recorder and a VHS player.

Supervision work room is situated in the portal portal of the stage, it has a loud connection and a light signalisation with all technical work rooms, announcement system into dressing rooms, sound monitoring and a TV monitor.
From this place, the entry light signalisation is controlled, distributed around the stage, orchestra pit, trap, the auditorium and in surrounding halls. It is not portable.

The connection among technical work rooms (light, sound, video, technologies), rehearsal rooms, studios, direction console in the auditorium and ballet studios is provided by loud contact system NAXOS. From authorised stations it is possible to make announcements to the stage, dressing rooms and to the auditorium.
