A tragicomedy about women whose only chance is to work until they drop

At the beginning of the play we find five elderly women somewhere in New York where they sun themselves on the benches in park during the midday rest. They talk about topics adequate to their age and mental state of mind, but slightly we become suspicious that the title The oldest profession refers to them – although it seems impossible on the first sight...
The reviewers, journalists as well as the audience have appreciated the co-operation of Ostrava’s theatres which continues also in this case: the stage director of this piece Ivan Krejčí is the artistic director of Komorní scéna Aréna (Chamber Stage Arena). The oldest profession in the studio of the Antonín Dvořák Theatre is his first working opportunity in our theatre.
