After 120 years since the premiere in La Scala also in Ostrava!
"Ebben? Ne andrò lontana" (Ah well then! I shall go far away.) – this is the opening phrase of the well-known aria from La Wally, which is in the repertoire of many world sopranos. Yet, the whole opera is rarely performed. Therefore it will be a unique event for the opera of the new season. La Wally is a typical example of Italian verismo opera – full of beautiful melodies and dramatic moments. What is more, the story is set in an unusual place of a village high in the Alps around 1800 where the people’s fates are decided not only by the cruel elements. The La Wally opera is performed as a new Czech premiere.
