Olivier Vercoutère was born in Wattrelos, France. After completing his training in Paris, he graduated from the renowned John Cranko School in Stuttgart and was immediately engaged by Marcia Haydée as a member of the Stuttgart Ballet. Following his first experiences in Stuttgart, he joined the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, before moving to the Ballet Company of the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the leadership of Richard Cragun.

In 1999, Olivier returned to Munich, where he danced for 14 years as a soloist in numerous productions under the direction of Ivan Liška. During this period, he also completed a degree in Dance Pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He concluded his stage career in 2013.

Since September 2013, Olivier Vercoutère has been Rehearsal Director and Ballet Master of the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich, as well as Professor of Classical Dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He is regularly invited as a guest teacher at academies and summer courses, and frequently serves as a jury member at various international competitions.
