The NDM’s ballet preparatory course is a selective studio. The types of recruitment are regular or individual. Admitted students can be enrolled not only into the first year but also into higher years according to their disposition. The purpose of recruitment to the NDM Ballet Studio is to select gifted children with a talent for ballet.
When recruiting, we verify:
• physiognomic disposition of the child for ballet (hip range of motion, flexibility and suppleness of the back, body proportions)
• ability to keep a rhythm
• body coordination during movement
• ability to repeat simple step combinations
• ability to do movement improvisation
• ability to maintain attention
COURSES
All the required abilities are naturally given to children to a certain extent. Therefore, there is no need to prepare children specifically for their recruitment.

Tuition fees are listed per term and are payable in a single payment. The due date for tuition fees for the first half of 2025/2026 is 31 October 2025 by bank transfer to the theatre’s account. Information and payment instructions will be provided to the children’s legal guardians via e-mail at the beginning of the school year.
There are no classes at the NDM Ballet Studio during national holidays, autumn holidays, Christmas holidays, and Easter holidays! Classes during spring break in the Ostrava district will be arranged depending on the demand of the children.
