LEA BESSOUDO GRECK - BIOGRAPHY

Lea Bessoudo Greck, a native of the South of France of French origin, received her formal dance education at the Princess Grace Academy of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and studied art history within the program of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Driven by a desire to explore movement in its rawest and most authentic forms, she subsequently relocated to Israel to pursue her professional career.

As a full-fledged member of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC), Lea performed internationally in acclaimed productions by Artistic Director Rami Be’er, including If At All, Horses In The Sky, Mother’s Milk, Asylum, A Good Citizen, TA_ATUA, and The Director’s Cut. She also collaborated with distinguished choreographers Martin Harriague and Eyal Dadon. Beyond her work on stage, Lea held key artistic leadership roles within KCDC, serving as Rehearsal Director for the main company, teaching ballet across both ensembles, driving visual and marketing endeavors, and directing the INSIDERS Creative Lab—an initiative she expanded from an online pandemic project into a live theatrical platform.

Her singular choreographic voice has yielded recognized works for KCDC 2 ensemble, such as Who Am I and Where is Charlie, alongside numerous creations for the company's international Dance Journey program. Her independent creations have been presented at major platforms, including Salamandra at the Smilansky Festival and Good Man Bad Man at the Jerusalem International Dance Festival (JISDF). Lea’s multidisciplinary approach regularly bridges dance with visual art, film, and live installation, incorporating collaborations with visual artists, musicians, and directors on projects such as the installation OXYGEN and the dance film The Arrival with François Vogel.

Prior to assuming leadership of the ballet ensemble, Lea established a strong creative partnership with the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre (NDM). She contributed choreography to the NDM Opera production The Brandenburgers in Bohemia, directed by Jiří Nekvasil, and created Šárka for NDM Ballet as part of the ‘dancENJOY’ program alongside works by Jiří Kylián, Itzik Galili, Marco Goecke, and Justin Peck—a piece later presented at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Litomyšl Castle. Her relationship with the company continued with the creation of Requiem for the production More Than Mozart!, as well as directing original conceptual video art for the ensemble Šárka and Requiem.

Since August 2026, Lea Bessoudo Greck serves as the Artistic Director of the Ballet at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, also known as NDM Ballet.
