A celebrated romantic story about a love that cannot bring itself to speak its name. Cyrano de Bergerac is a poet, swordsman, and dreamer—a man gifted with brilliance of language, yet burdened by painful self-doubt. He loves the beautiful Roxane, but his own sense of inadequacy leads him to hide his feelings behind wit, irony, and another man’s face. The words he writes out of love are given to someone else, while he remains in the background, consumed by his own inner uncertainty.

Edmond Rostand’s play is rich in poetry, humour, and melancholy, blending tenderness with courage and sincerity with pretence. This production draws on the enduring power of classical storytelling, deep emotion, and compelling stage performance. Petr Panzenberger will appear in the title role, lending Cyrano both his presence and charisma.
