The night is still young. The Black Dog is standing right outside the club. Will he let you into paradise? If he does, there is no way back. Everything thuds. Everything moves. The sweat. Alcohol runs through veins. People get lost in fog and stroboscope lights. And among them, five bartenders, two Italians, three Bulgarians, four blonde Canadians, thirty Spaniards, twenty-four Frenchmen, an unknown lumberjack, a woman from the East, 57-year-old Russian man, and many more. Globalisation has come to Paradise. And amid the beats, there are moments of closeness that make you forget that the magic only lasts for just one night.

Roland Schimmellpfenning combines the pulsing energy of dance clubs with the lives of people inside them. In his mind, the clubs are a symbolic place for both intimacy and alienation. Are we in paradise or in hell?
