How much are we willing to perform just to avoid taking responsibility? The owner of a successful company hires an actor to pose as its feared director in front of the employees — a fictional boss who can conveniently take the blame for every unpopular decision. But what begins as a small deception soon spirals into something far more absurd, as the line between performance and reality becomes increasingly blurred. The actor throws himself into the role with more conviction than anyone expected, and a harmless pretence turns into a tangled game of identities, ambition, and illusion.

This stage adaptation of Lars von Trier’s cult comedy delivers sharp humour while lightly and ironically exposing how easily we construct our own fictions — and how readily we choose to believe in them. Reality, after all, may be nothing more than a matter of interpretation. So who is really playing whom?
