In March 2027, the intimate stage of Theatre “12” will come alive with Fables, a new children’s opera by Juraj Čiernik. Drawing on age-old stories, the work uses metaphor to introduce young audiences to important moral values. The production is performed entirely by the young participants of the NDM Opera and Musical Studio, for whom it offers a rare opportunity to work in a professional environment on a musical work written especially for their voices.

With this new title, Juraj Čiernik continues Ostrava’s strong tradition of original children’s operas shaped by composers such as Pavel Helebrand and Leon Juřica.
