MARIA CARLA OGNISANTO - BIOGRAPHY

Maria Carla Ognisanto was born in the Sicilian town of Gela, where she received her dance education at the Scuola di danza Arabesque (2008–2018). Additionally, she graduated from the M. Marconi School of Psychology and Education, where she studied from 2018 to 2022. Between 2018 and 2023, she attended the Ballettschule Theater Basel in Switzerland. She extended her education through courses organised by the Huber Widemann Schule for Health and Exercise in Basel from 2018 to 2021.

During the course of her studies, she participated in several workshops and summer dance courses on various dance styles and techniques and the work of leading international choreographers, including Craig Davidson, Ivan Gil-Ortega, Pina Bausch, William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, as well as Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich within the Metamorphosis Dance Company.

In the years 2016, 2017, and 2018, she was awarded a scholarship to summer dance courses organised by a dance school in Monaco (Académie de Danse Princesse Grace), in 2017, a scholarship to the ballet company Theater Kiel in Germany, and in 2016, a scholarship to the ballet school of the Rome Opera Theatre and a week-long scholarship to the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Germany.
