Janusz Klimsza studied acting in Wroclaw and then he studied theatre direction at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in Prague. He has directed many plays at various Czech and Polish theatres, he is also an author of many stage designs and theatre adaptations. He used to teach acting at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. Between 2001 and 2004 he was an artistic director of the Petr Bezruč Theatre in Ostrava, then between 2004 and 2008 he worked as an artistic director of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre drama company. Since 2008 he has been a director at the theatre’s drama company. He works for Czech Television and Czech Radio, and he also focuses on literature.
