Informace

A brilliant tragicomedy by Shakespear’s contemporary about Faustus, who makes a pack with the devil. He will give his soul in return for unlimited knowledge. Marlow goes for an inspiration to an old German legend about a man who declared that he had gained all the knowledge of mankind. He knows that the biggest part of the knowledge is the one of which we know nothing. Therefore, he unites himself with the supernatural powers. Unfortunately, he chooses the evil side and the devil does not hesitate to send the respectable doctor to the hell.

Thrilling and ironic extract of two proverbs: Who asks a lot, he learns too much, and Do good to the devil, he will reward you with the hell.
