Contemporary English playwright and screenwriter Michael Cooney focuses mainly on two genres: dark psycho-thrillers and satirist farces. One of his brilliant farces is surely Cash on Delivery (also known as the Tenants of Mr Swan). Mr Swan one day realizes that the social system has certain faults that can be used to his benefit. The audience catches him at a time when his little fraud has got him over his head and he is desperately trying to get out of it. The story, filled with brisk humor, slowly turns increasingly more ridiculous and bizarre. It is a perfect piece to get to your funny bone, providing the best of opportunities for comic craziness.
