This ballet is based on a very successful novel Les Liaisons dangereuses by a French writer Pierre Choderlose de Laclose. Choreography was created by Krzysztof Pastor and it is based on the original music of Latvian composer Arturs Maskats. The plot of the ballet is based on dramatically escalated interpersonal relationships, taking place on dance balls that became the centerpiece of social events and encounters at the time when the story takes place. A passionate Marquis de Merteuil and cold-blooded Vicomte de Valmont play a dangerous game full of cunning intrigues with people and their emotions. A godly Madame de Tourvel, a young and naïve Cécile Volanges along with The Chevalier Danceny become their foot soldiers. Though, the players do not know that they will ultimately become the hostages of their own emotions...
