The ballet ROSSINI CARDS, by the contemporary Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti, has received great acclaim from both critics and audiences across Europe and North America. The reason for such success is the impressive combination of Rossini’s music and modern dance expression.

 

For the very first time, a Czech audience will have the opportunity to see the work of the Spanish choreographer Juanjo Argués, who devotes his time not only to dance and theatre, but is also passionate about film, fashion and performances. The Consequence choreography is inspired by the never-ending evolution of the bond between man and nature and the influences of modern technology. He expresses human power in a single duet between man and woman. Accompanied by violin and cello performing the music of the Oscar winner Jóhann Jóhannsson, the viewer sees how protect and abducted the woman is by her partner. The question of the influence technologies have on a human being remains unanswered.

 

The second choreography of the evening – Rossini Cards – plays mainly on the music of a certain famous Italian composer, who is also known as a gourmet and a splendid chef. Mauro Bigonzetti has developed a kaleidoscopic image of individual scenes in front of the viewer, a sequence of parallel images of life associated with different cards that are placed one after another as if without any continuity. So expect a spectacular dance feast complimented with stunning music! And that entire banquet comes with a special recipe of the famous gourmet Rossini.
