It is a story about a beautiful and diligent Nastěnka, brave but big-headed Ivan and their love that has the power to break the pride and conceit of Ivan but also the magic spell a stick called Mrazilka. This musical has had already two premieres in the Czech Republic, both on ice. After twelve years during which it literally swept through all of the Czech Republic and Slovakia and with over a million of people having watched it, the musical landed in our theatre. Contrary to the winter stadiums, the characters have no skates on but they sing accompanied by live music.

From the history:

Over forty years ago Russian film director Alexander Rou and the script writer Nikolaj Robertovič Erdman shot a fairytale called Mrazík. The music was written by Nikolaj Budaškin. The fairytale ran through the Russian lands almost without a notice and ended in the film archives. However, the ways of art are unpredictable. Nobody would have guessed that Mrazík would find its way out and make its home in the Czech lands. The major credit for the success must be given to excellent Czech dubbing, thanks to which whole generations of Czechs and Slovaks know Mrazík almost by heart.
